Roe Layla Bear

This is the very first dahlia we hybridized.

In 2021, we lost our dog Layla. She was an amazing pup and she loved the farm. If Roe is out in the field, she is out there with her as well.  

When she passed away, Roe could not bring herself to cut the dahlias because they reminded her of how much Layla loved them, so they went to seed. That year, she told Sean she will be collecting seeds and will be planting them so she could hybridize a dahlia and name it after Layla. 

Well, that day has come. We have finally picked a name for this dahlia--- Roe Layla Bear. 

We are growing her another year (4th year) and then we will release her to everyone in 2026. Stop by on here periodically throughout the 2025 season. We will update this profile with more pictures, growing habits and other stats.
